Just Say I Will ...

With all the hype around New Year resolutions, goals, visions and downloadable templates and so on.... it really is easy to get confused about setting up your year to be the best one yet.  How do you do it???? I am a big believer that the start of a year gives us a rare opportunity to stop, breathe, think, reset our plans and to set our own pathways forward. I often refer to this as setting our human GPS.  And today, here's my tip to keep it simple and clear.

Clean Up Time for Old Goals

A few years ago, Professional Coach, Wendy Buckingham, worked with us on a leadership program.  She was a hit with our participants and we all found her book, Ready Set Goal! a great asset to our bookshelves.  Starting with a chapter on Why have goals? through to Set strong and powerful goals to Get inspired and stay motivated, this easily written book provides tip after tip.  When I found the chapter called The First Step; Clean Up Time for Old Goals, I just knew this was a goal setting book with a difference.  Read on to see why......

Launch of Australian Grain Leaders Program 2018

We are pleased to be facilitating the Australian Grain Leaders Program in 2018.  10th Anniversary.  This year will mark over 100 graduates.  These amazing leaders are creating positive change in the grains industry.  Eleven participants are joining the program in 2018 with a soft launch in January and a formal launch in Canberra in February.   The program is hosted by Grain Growers Limited. This year participants are being selected from right across the Australian grain supply chain.  This diverse group of emerging leaders will engage in 3 Face to Face leadership learning events and 2 Field Trips in Tasmania and New South Wales.  A highlight of this program is where each participant identifies and develops their own leadership project with key outcomes for;

1. Themselves, 2. Their Enterprise and 3. The Australian grains industry.

What's the "Y" in SMARTY goals?

I think the hardest goals to set are the ones all about us!  And then to own them.  So remember the SMARTY goals acronym and importantly that "Y" stands for YOURS.  When you set goals that are YOURS, not anyone else's or are caught up with what you think you should be doing, then they are 200% more likely to feel right and will stick.  Achievement will be yours.  So as you set plans in place, please consider turning them into SMARTY goals.  Here's the lowdown....

7 Habits to Guide you to Success
One of my favourite books and programs of all time is The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.  This amazing work of Dr Stephen R Covey has contributed to my own development as well as provided a great platform for some of the leadership programs we facilitate.  A key activity is to look at the 7 habits of effective people and then their opposites. I find this is one of the best ways to understand the 7 habits of highly effective people. Here's an overview for you...
